Micro Compounding

Micro Compounding offers a route to perform all of the commercially available thermoplastic processing techniques but with a fraction of the
material use and losses.

Typical batch sizes are in the 20 to 250g range but it is possible to work with quantities as low as 10g and non-discharging losses of just 2 or 3g. Using conventional extruders losses are orders of magnitude larger and the number of data points that can be generated from a given sample far lower.

The Rondol MicroLab is the world's smallest fully segmented, co-rotating, parallel twin screw extruder and offers both flexibility and high performance dispersive mixing performance.

Typical applications are:

  • Pharmaceutical processing
  • Reactive extrusion
  • Vacuum degassing
  • Pigment dispersion
  • Inline compounding of thermoplastic sheet and tape
